I have heard this before and just read this now.......What has your experience been?
Using a dishwasher actually uses about 35% less water than
washing dishes by hand. And, if you skip the drying cycle
and let the dishes air dry you'll use about 15% less
electricity. But, always make sure that the dishwasher has
a full load before running it. Although a dishwasher saves
on water, running several half loads per day will end up
wasting more than it saves.

maybe because a dishwasher can monitor the amount of water it dispenses for each load. I do tend to let the water run too much when i've washed my dishes by hand.
1i didn't know that , thanks for that, it's good to know.

Yes I tend to run the water when I'm
doing dishes too!

12News to me! Glad I only run my dishwasher once a day!
13I agree with the post. Just make sure that it's properly loaded; not over-loaded or under-loaded.
14Yup - good news okmom!!!
15Absolutely td - then the formula for saving would no longer apply.
16You can also srape (rubber scraper) the food off your dishes into the garbage. This also saves allot of water & therefore money. If you do not use the drying cycle in the dishwasher, the dishes drip dry therefore less spotting and film. I don't need rinse agent this way (might depend on your water).
