I love buying fresh from the market in season. It is a delicious and inexpensive source of fruit and veggies. Before winter I like to stock up on niblets corn, peaches, pineapple tidbits, when there is a sale on. (They have to be less than 1/2 price) Frozen, I like peas and mixed vegetables, as well as blueberries when they are on sale. How bout You - what do you use canned or frozen?
Canned (and frozen) fruits and veggies cost a fraction of
their fresh counterparts, yet last longer and actually have
more vitamins and minerals. Plus you can recycle the can and
paper packaging!

I should say in winter... in addition to fresh fruit and veggies, I use the canned and frozen.

3I am very fortunate to live in southern NJ, and we have a decent growing season, so I've been stocking up. I also have a stash of canned and frozen goods. I love my deep freezer.
4You can also stock up on meat & bread when they are on a good sale. Meat is usually on sale after a weekend if it did not sell. Just put an extra bag over the product & this protects them from freezer burn.
5I love going to the farmers market when I can. The fresh produce is a lot better than the stores who claims it's fresh.
